About Us

John and Megan Moran live on the West coast of Ireland. John is Irish and Megan is Australian and together they have a family run business with over 16 years experience in the antiques trade. In 1990 they moved to Australia and it was then that they decided to concentrate on antiques full time.

They started out at the famous Glebe markets every Sunday and from there became involved in antique centres and the fair circuit. At one stage they had a shop in a Sydney Institution, The Tin Sheds, Beatty Street Balmain. Eventually they started importing Antiques to Australia from Ireland and England, all the time building and maintaining contacts. Australia was fantastic because it gave them an opportunity to work in every side of the antiques trade markets, fairs, shops, auction porter, supplying auctions, importing, and exporting antiques.

Whilst all his was going on their family was starting and then growing. Today, they have 3 gorgeous girls. In 2002 they decided to move back to Ireland on the famous 3 to 5 year plan. In June of 2004 they opened The Long Acre, in Westport. They love having the shop and if you're ever in Westport, drop in and see them - you will be more than welcome.

If you are looking for anything in particular let them know, whether it is a small collectable toy or furniture to fill a container, they'll do their best to help.
